An addition is the largest project most homeowners ever take on, and the one where using a single accountable contractor matters most. Foundation, framing, roof tie-in, siding, windows, mechanical extensions, insulation, drywall and finish all have to happen in order, and every handoff between separate trades is somewhere a schedule can stall.
LCD Construction Inc. builds additions from the footing up and ties them into the existing house so the result reads as part of the home rather than an obvious bolt-on: rooflines that line up, siding and trim that match, floors that meet at the same height, and heating and electrical extended to actually serve the new space.

Scope and feasibility
What you want, what the lot and the existing structure will carry, and what the village will allow — setbacks, height and lot coverage.

Plans and permits
Drawings, structural details and the permit set for your municipality, with revisions handled through review.
- 03
Foundation
Excavation, footings, foundation walls or slab, and any needed drainage.
- 04
Framing and dry-in
Floor, walls and roof framed, sheathed, roofed and wrapped so the structure is weather-tight before anything else starts.
- 05
Rough-in
HVAC, electrical and plumbing extended into the addition, then inspected.
- 06
Exterior
Siding, trim, gutters, windows and doors matched to the existing home.
- 07
Interior finish
Insulation, drywall, flooring, doors, trim, cabinets, fixtures and paint.
- 08
Final walkthrough
Final inspections, then we walk the addition with you and work the punch list.

- Exterior: siding, trim and roofing selected to match the existing house
- Windows and doors: your selections, spec'd to the opening and the code
- Interior: the same cabinet, flooring and trim options as our remodeling work

Timeline & cost
We do not publish a price range for home additions, because a number detached from your actual project is not useful to you. Scope, material lead times, permit review and what turns up once the walls are open all move it.

Do I need architectural plans?
For an addition, yes — municipalities require a stamped or detailed permit set for structural work. We will tell you what your village expects and work from your drawings or help you get a set made.
Can we stay in the house during construction?
Usually. The addition is framed and dried in before the wall between old and new opens up, which keeps the disruption to a defined window. We plan the sequence around you living there.
Can you match my existing siding and trim?
We match as closely as the product still made will allow, and we will show you the options honestly. On older homes an exact match sometimes means changing a larger section so the transition is not obvious.
Is a dormer or second story possible on my house?
It depends on the existing foundation and framing, plus your village's height and lot-coverage rules. We assess the structure before anyone promises you a second floor.
How much does an addition cost?
Too much depends on size, foundation, roof complexity and finish level for a number on a web page to mean anything. The estimate is free and we will price your actual project rather than a range.
