Chicago weather is a full test cycle every year: freeze-thaw, wind off the lake, driving rain and summer humidity. Siding is what stands between all of that and your sheathing, and when it fails the damage is usually well underway before anything is visible from the street.
LCD Construction Inc. replaces and repairs residential siding along with the parts of the exterior that have to work with it: the weather-resistant barrier, flashing at windows, doors and transitions, trim, soffit and fascia. Where sheathing or framing behind the old siding has rotted, we repair the structure rather than covering it back up.

Every stage below is handled by LCD Construction Inc. — you are not hiring the next trade separately once the previous one leaves.

Inspect
We look at the whole exterior — siding, trim, flashing, grade and where water has been getting in.

Tear off
Old siding removed to the sheathing so the substrate can actually be seen.
- 03
Repair
Rotted sheathing and framing replaced before anything new goes over it.

Barrier and flashing
Weather-resistant barrier installed and lapped correctly, with flashing at windows, doors and transitions.
- 05
Install siding
Courses set to layout with proper fastening and clearances at grade, roof and penetrations.
- 06
Trim and detail
Corners, trim, soffit, fascia and caulking at the details that need it.

Can you replace just one section of siding?
Yes. Matching aged siding exactly is not always possible, and we will be straight with you about how close the match will look before we start.
Vinyl or fiber cement?
Vinyl costs less and installs faster; fiber cement is heavier, holds paint well and reads as a more substantial material. We will walk you through the tradeoffs for your house and budget rather than steering you.
What if there is rot behind the old siding?
We show it to you, explain the repair, and price it before proceeding. Siding installed over rotted sheathing is a guaranteed callback and we will not do it.
Do you work on the interior if water already got in?
Yes — framing, drywall, insulation, flooring and paint are all in-house, which is a real advantage when the damage crosses from outside to inside.
